The Program                                                          Students Studying

The Oita University academic year begins in early April and ends in late March, with approximately seven weeks of class breaks during the year. You may study for the Spring Semester or the Academic Year. The International Program at Oita University aims to expand the university’s Exchange Promotion Scheme by accepting students who do not have sufficient ability in the Japanese language to take courses taught in Japanese. Classes are taught in English and prior knowledge of Japanese is not required. Students who are interested in the Japanese language, culture and society spend six months or a year at Oita University studying language and other subjects offered in English. The program provides an excellent opportunity to gain further understanding of Japanese culture and, in addition, offers a multicultural experience through interaction with students from various parts of the world.
