STUDY AT THE UNIVERSITÉ JEAN MOULIN-LYON 3 Would you like to take the
once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to study in France for a year, receive
degree credit for your effort, and experience living in continental
Europe? Study in other areas may be possible in conjunction with nearby campuses. Students at UNC Charlotte may register for classes at Lyon 3 in southeastern France and receive credit toward their degree requirements. Each year, one to four UNC Charlotte students study at Lyon 3 while Lyon 3 business students are at UNC Charlotte taking courses. The location of Lyon 3 in southeastern France (only two hours from Paris by the "TGV" High-Speed Train, and a few hours from the Alps, the Mediterranean, the Riviera, and Italy) and the wide range of courses offered make it an ideal place to spend a year as a visiting student. Lyon, a major French city and important
center for European business and banking, is a delightful combination of
ancient Roman influences and modern French culture. With its red tile
roofs and sidewalk cafes, its twenty centuries of history, its museums and
theaters, and the delicious cuisine for which it is famous, Lyon offers
many varied "extra-curricular" activities. Click on the following links for more information about these near by cities: Intensive French language and orientation courses for UNC Charlotte students at Lyon 3 begin in mid-September, and the Lyon 3 academic year begins in early October ending in June, with approximately five weeks of class breaks during the year. The Exchange Coordinator at Lyon 3 is available to assist all UNC Charlotte students with academic and personal concerns throughout the year. Students will attend regular Lyon 3 courses taught in French by regular Lyon 3 faculty. Attending Lyon 3 for one academic year, a UNC Charlotte student would normally receive between 30 and 36 semester hours of credit. Study in English Lyon France (SELF) The program is organized to allow significant improvement in the French level of proficiency, fulfillment of curriculum requirements at home UNC Charlotte and achievement of cultural awareness. Most of the courses are designed from a European or French perspective stressing international comparisons. The most challenging program has been specifically designed for all foreign students who are motivated to study in France to get this necessary international experience without having already mastered the French language. The program is open to UNC Charlotte students having a basic knowledge of French. About the University of JEAN MOULIN-LYON 3
